Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical examinations and record patient medical histories.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
- Perform procedures like suturing wounds and administering injections.
- Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
Requirements:
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in VA.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Proficient in medical terminology and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology for accurate patient assessment.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., ECW).
- Ability to perform physical examinations and assess vital signs accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Prior experience in primary care or a related field preferred.
- Interest in clinical research is a plus.
- Spanish-speaking is an asset.
- PALS and ACLS Certifications required.
Job Type: Part-Time.
Pay: Starting at $65.00 - $80 per hour.
Expected Hours: 24 hours per week.
